“Energy flows where attention goes.”

- Tony Robbins.

Yoga to me is about tuning into how you feel every time you hit your mat and accepting yourself as is.

Embracing every aspect of your being: mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, socially and loving yourself for showing up!

I found yoga at a time where I was alone, afraid, lost and it completely changed my life. I wholeheartedly believe that mindful movement is the best medicine. When you practice yoga, you are constantly showing up for yourself every time you hit your mat. The practice isn’t about self-improvement, but rather self-acceptance.

After graduation, I started supply teaching and I absolutely loved it. However, I always felt like I had more to give. Yoga had become such an important aspect of my life, so once I completed my Yoga Teacher Training the world spiralled into a pandemic, I felt called to share what I learned with our youth.

Being mindful of who we are, how we feel, how we want to feel, and tapping into that through the basics of yoga — especially at a young age — can be so powerful. I designed a program that allows youth to open their minds and access the potential they have within themselves. That is how Open Minds was born.

Ever since I was young, I remember preferring to shop at Value Village over any shopping mall. To me, clothing and style are ways of expressing art and personality. Layitonme was created in 2017 as a place where I could resell clothes that I believed were stylish. It quickly spiralled into a revolving closet made possible by donations from an amazing community who believe in the benefit of resurfacing clothes.

Those who support Layitonme are supporting the movement of laying their clothes on me and not the landfills. I pour my heart into extending the life of these clothes and helping find them a new home. You can shop Layitonme on Instagram @Layitonmee or at numerous Pop-Ups held throughout the year! Stop Fast Fashion and Shop Second Hand.
